Massachusetts Veterans’ Service Officers

If an individual wants to apply for benefits, local counties have veteran service officers that can help with service claims, such as compensation for an injury in service, either mental or physical. While they are not part of the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, they can help in situations and assist with getting service records, including if veterans need proof they have served or needs additional documentation, and these individuals have access to the necessary systems.
